Even if you know the weather prediction during your camping trip, there is always a chance it is going to rain so you always have to come ready. Should it, the fun does not end there. In fact, there are plenty of ways that you may make your stay comfortable and even more enjoyable though it’s working outside. Bear in mind, don’t think about it as an inconvenience, think of it as a challenge!
Invest in the right tent
The outside is unpredictable so you always must be ready no matter what the weather is. If you intend to go camping throughout the rainy season, buying a fantastic quality tent with built-in vents. If buying a new one is out of the question, you can choose to re-proof your old one.
Bring a gazebo
A gazebo will help greatly if you’re camping in wet weather. It will shelter and protect you, your own tent and your equipment from the rain. This means that you can still enjoy being outside of your tent without getting wet.
Think about storage
Resealable plastic bags will be useful for storing clothes, toiletries, and other tiny things when you’re outside. They’re waterproof, too, that’s why they’re ideal for the rainy season. Do not forget to store dry and wet things individually and make sure to have dry clothing to keep you warm once you’re within the tent. Seal food items tightly to keep them fresh and to prevent water from getting in.
Do not forget to protect yourself
Your gear is all set, but in addition, you want the right clothing and accessories for yourself – no one wants to catch a cold and be not able to enjoy while out on an outdoor excursion. Arm yourself with a waterproof coat, trousers, and boots. Keep bug repellants prepared (many tend to come out in wet weather) and package a microfiber towel – they are compact, absorbent and dries fast.
Plan fun activities
There are nonetheless some fun outdoor activities you can perform even when it’s pouring. Play table games, bring the guitar out or tell ghost stories with kids to keep them amused.
Camping in the rain doesn’t have to be a hassle – using the ideal gear and mindset, you’re still certain to have a memorable trip!
